The significance of this moment is characterized by the former president's refusal to pursue constitutional amendments to secure a third term, a move that could have had negative consequences for the socio-political stability of the state. Therefore, the objectives of this paper aim to explore, on one hand, the motivations behind President Aziz's decision to abide by constitutional provisions and, on the other hand, the resulting socio-political consequences. Structured in two parts, this paper uses the 2019 elections as a reference point for achieving the proposed objectives. The first part employs a rational choice approach, considering the costs and benefits that led the former president to peacefully transfer political power. The second part utilizes an interpretative analysis of reports from organizations such as Freedom House, the Arab Barometer, and V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) to assess the socio-political context resulting from the period 2019-2023. Additionally, this study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of election data with qualitative analysis of political discourse and media coverage. On July 9 2020 the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, with a raised fist and the slogan "Mutri (Mafia) out!" led a democratic revolution against the 10-year rule of Boyko Borissov. Mass protests began, which in the elections of April 4th 2021 for the first time took away the majority of his party. We were faced up with an incredible paradox:  the process of change started as a people's protest against corrupt governance and led to three years of sleeping of the political system, powerlessness and even more corrupt governance by a populist group tied to oligarchs and a financial pyramid. The US ambassador coordinated all attempts to resolve the crisis. The Party of the Change came to power with a shady financial and political support, and made a successful quadruple coalition at the end of 2021. It deepened the crisis with a chaotic six-month rule.</span></a></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span>The conducted analysis is based on the application of the concept of disease to the explanation of political crisis in Bulgaria. It is expressed in the subordination of institutions and parties to the interests of financial oligarchs and in the failure to resolve the problems of the citizens<a>.</a> The paper argues that <a>the model of political change in the interests of democracy and citizens based on an outside scenario is predestined to failure if there are no mature democratic institutions and the parties serve only the financial oligarchy</a>. The analysis is carried out from the point of view of </span><span><span><span>J. A citizen living in a democratic country also has the freedom not to make any choice, if he or she feels that no political option is suitable. That non-voter has the right to publicly express this opinion, so that others may follow suit. While the call not to vote falls within the limits of freedom of expression guaranteed by liberal democracies, the purpose of this call may be beyond legitimate intentions.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span lang="RO" xml:lang="RO" xml:lang="RO"><span><span>Messages calling for a boycott of voting is usually negatively charged, if not always, claiming that voting itself is against the interests of citizens and only serves politicians. An analysis of the impact of these messages on the voting public is difficult to undertake from a methodological perspective. The political science researcher would hardly be able to identify those voters who allowed themselves to be convinced to give up casting their ballot because of the anti-vote messages that they were bombarded with during the election campaign.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span lang="RO" xml:lang="RO" xml:lang="RO"><span><span>Political scientists and communication experts have the right tools when it comes to online conspiracy theories meant to generate a low voter turnout in elections. During this period, the election process was monitored by a number of researchers, Bulgarian and international organizations, whose analyses highlighted the main deficiencies in the conduct of elections in the country. While the quality of the debate in the parliamentary process tends to follow a downward gradation, the presidential institution maintains a consistently high public approval. Meanwhile the official governments issued by the Presidential institution are characterized by a fundamentally different public communication from the traditionally accepted one. All this has one effect - it makes Bulgarian Parliamentary system seem not valid and not acceptable. The participation of the presidential institution in stimulating this process is indisputable. Mass protests began, which in the elections of 4.04.2021 for the first time took away the majority of his party</span></span>. <span><span>We were faced up an incredible paradox:  the process of change started as a people's protest against a corrupt governance and led to three years of sleeping of the political system, powerlessness and even more corrupt governance by a populist group tied to oligarchs and a financial pyramid.</span></span> <span><span>They built a political structure with a ridiculous name “We Continue the Change”! President Biden presented the name of future Prime Minister Petkov from a piece of paper, and the US ambassador coordinated all attempts to resolve the crisis. The party of the change came to power with shade financial and political support, and made a successful quadruple coalition in the end 2021. </span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span>The conducted analysis is based on the application of the concept of disease to the explanation of politics and political crisis in Bulgaria. It is expressed in the subordination of institutions and parties to the interests of economic oligarchs and in the failure to resolve the problems of citizens<a>.</a> The paper argues the conclusion that the model of political change in the interests of democracy and citizens based on an outside scenario is predestined to failure if there are no mature democratic institutions and the parties serve only the financial oligarchy. The analysis is carried out from the point of view of </span></span><span lang="RU" xml:lang="RU" xml:lang="RU"><span><span><span>J.
