This paper addresses the matter of the trait of congruence in an interdisciplinary manner, starting from its apprehension from the viewpoint of social psychology and thereupon expanding its grasp unto the realm of political symbolism.

Whereas the primary objective of this endeavour is to examine the relevance of Sigmund Freud’s concept of parapraxis within the realm of political symbolism, the ultimate objective consists of identifying the distinctive traits and landmarks regarding the attributes of congruence and authenticity of politicians within the scope of our research on the political symbolism of the perception of the identity of politicians.
