In this essay I will present the crucial issue of normative IR theory (international political theory). Normative power is an alternative for a strong power defined mainly by co-called political realists on the ground of the theory as well as their fellows on the ground of political practice, i.e. political decision makers who still believe in traditional understood international politics as a sphere of conflict of interests. Strengthening of normative powers ought to be a response to aggressive attitudes and behaviours. Thanks to that we will be able achieve a peaceful world in the long term perspective.
