In order to provide power comfort for themselves, centers of power have been looking for the most effective methods of influencing the behavior of the masses for centuries. Mass media made it easier to achieve this goal and the new methods of instant communication shatter the stereotypical perception about the need for a smooth transition in non-authoritarian societies in terms of implementation of specific values or forming political attitudes. Because of its rapid development and dissemination, social media increasingly enter the field of political organizations as a key element in the process of formation and reshaping of political ideologies. This paper examines the evolution of methods for shaping and reshaping of value systems and political attitudes of target societies in the new media age, as well as the increasing role of social media in the evolution of contemporary political ideologies.
